This seventeen volume set is the first work to cover all known living species of birds. It is beautifully illustrated and features articles by many distinguished naturalists. The first volume was published in 1992 by Lynx Edicions, in co-operation with BirdLife International. The last volume was published as a special supplement in 2012.
